Natasha Poteat, LPC
Natasha Poteat is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who believes that supporting mental health needs of our youth, means having a partnership and connection with the families. Collaboration with the caregivers to explore their child's difficulties, knowing how to understand the root cause, promoting positive behaviors, and building a stronger connection is key to healing. My passion is working with children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual abuse, self-esteem, and difficult life adjustments. I want the client to feel as my equal to foster strength, confidence, and passion for their healthiest self.
The majority of my experience has been working with school age children from age 4-18. Working closely with families alongside their journey. I do have experience working with adults with anxiety and depression as well. I am trained in Play Therapy Phase 1, along with TF-CBT Phase 1. I enjoy using play therapy with the younger population who are unable to communicate feelings and emotions and seeing their thoughts/emotions come out during play, this truly amazes me!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband of 16 years and my two daughters age 14 and 11. We will most likely be at a softball field or gym for basketball on our off days. I also enjoy family vacations to the beach, coffee, my Great Dane and Bernedoodle boys, and relaxing with friends and family.
